Deon Ben (Navajo) from Tohatchi, New Mexico, is the Native American Program Manager for the Grand Canyon Trust, managing its Colorado Plateau Intertribal Conversation Gathering. Trained in both traditional Native ways and contemporary environmental sciences, he has long worked to incorporate traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) to animal husbandry and grazing management within tribal communities facing climate challenges.
