Finding The Lost City of the Monkey God
Feedback form is now closed.
Bestselling author and New Yorker writer Doug Preston has chronicled adventurer Steve Elkins' extraordinarily difficult search for a legendary lost city deep in the Honduran jungle in his recent book, The Lost City of the Monkey God: A True Story. Award-winning filmmaker Bill Benenson who helped fund and organize the search, captured the expedition on film, and we are honored to be showing a "work-in-progress" version of this eagerly anticipated, soon-to-be-released documentary, at Bioneers this weekend. In this session Doug, Steve and Bill will discuss the importance of the expedition's archeological findings; how the highly advanced LIDAR mapping technology was the key to locating the site, and the challenges and ecological lessons of this quest.
