Digital Inclusivity and Urban Resilience in the Global South
Feedback form is now closed.
How can 21st century cities be more accessible and inclusive? Full access for persons with disabilities and older persons should matter to all of us, since as we age we will all have some experience with disability. The “Global South” (where 80% of people with disabilities live) has become the frontline of innovation in urban accessibility. Visionary local leaders are developing cutting-edge tools based on mobile devices and cloud computing to shape radically inclusive cities. With: James Thurston of G3ICT, a global disability advocacy non-profit; Victor Pineda, Ph.D., of World Enabled; Alex Ghenis, Policy and Research Specialist at the World Institute on Disability; Anirudh Koul, Senior Data Scientist at Microsoft AI and Research; Jake Johnson, manager of the Department of Rehabilitation’s (DOR) Applications and Web Development Section.
